AbstractDistinct remote sensing and aerogeophysical data were digitally integrated for geological application in the Carajás Mineral Province, Brazilian Amazon. The integration techniques were based on color modelling (IHS), Selective Principal Component and multiplication (SPC-SAR). The results have shown that a significative gain in information and confidence for the interpretation were due to: (1) distinct viewing perspectives (radar incidence/sun elevation, radar azimuth/sun azimuth) providing geological structural enhancements for all directions in the area; (2) the optical chromatic contribution which improves the interpretability of the radar data; (3) the information of lithological variation related to gammaespectrometric data that is added to the spatial attributes provided by the radar images and; (4) the contribution from the magnetic data related to the tectonic-structures and boundaries of geological units that are added to the geometric and spectral information provided by SAR and optical data.
